XIII. MEDIA LITERACY
"There are no bad stories, only bad story tellers."
Last Friday, November 27, 2015. A seminar was held at the APC Auditorium about The media literacy.
Lian Buan, Sophia Balod, and Edmalynne Remillano from the GMA Networks were invited to be the speakers for a seminar about Media Literacy.
Media literacy is a repertoire of competencies that enable people
to analyze, evaluate, and create messages in a wide variety of media
modes, genres, and formats.
Media is a big part of our lives. especially now that our technologies have developed in many ways. Before the time of smart phones and social medias. The only way that we could get updates about the headlines is through newspaper and television news. Through the years. Human has created new ways of improving technology. With smart phones we can now be updated through just one tap, one slide, one click. as easy as that.
But.............
The problem with our advanced technology is that it gave everyone the power to share informations. What's the bad effect?
Not everything we see online is relevant. Not every post is true.
and thanks to Ms. Lian Buan for enlightening us about the importance of writing. It is important to deliver issues that are relevent to everyone. something important that's worth buzzing for. issues that people should really be involved in and should be informed with the best example would be the issues regarding upcoming elections 2016. Something that everyone should put their attention to. rather than issues that are not very important and only used for entertainment.
The real advocacy of Journalism is to raise awareness to people.
